Here at Enjoy!, we’re BIG fans of coconut - it’s not an exaggeration! We use coconut in some way in all our products. 

Every product contains at least coconut sugar, but we also use coconut milk and coconut oil in some. For example, our vegan fudge is made with coconut milk instead of dairy and all our filled chocolate contains coconut oil. .

Why do we use coconut? 

Our philosophy is to keep recipes simple but great tasting, with as few, natural ingredients as possible. 

Although not a nutritional superfood, coconut sugar offers more vitamins and minerals than refined sugar. It contains less fructose and has less glycaemic impact, which measures the effects of carbohydrates on your blood sugar, than refined table sugar. Lastly, it is a more sustainable sugar - coconut palms benefit the environment as they restore damaged soil requiring very little water in the process. 

Captivating coconut facts

• The coconut is a drupe and not a nut. A drupe is a fruit that has a fleshy outer around a pit, like mangoes, cherries and cashews

• The name coconut comes from combining “nut” with the Portuguese word coco, meaning face, used because the three holes create a face-like image. This term came into usage in the 17th century

• Not all coconuts are considered vegan due to the way they are harvested. In early 2016, it was discovered that in some East Asian countries, monkeys were being used to harvest coconuts.  Since then, the Vegan Society audits manufacturers to ensure no animals are involved in harvesting, before registering them as Vegan

• Coconut palms are incredibly versatile in their use and are known as the “tree of life” in some parts of the world. As well as food and drink, coconut is used in things like cosmetics, fuel, folk medicine, utensils and even building
